New Orleans is built on culture, resilience, and the passion of those who give selflessly to make it better. 504GOOD seeks to honor and support individuals who embody the true spirit of the city—those who make sacrifices, endure challenges and dedicate themselves to implement transformative solutions that create meaningful change. These changemakers operate with an entrepreneurial spirit, driven by a deep love for New Orleans and its people.
Criteria for Nominating Someone
Any member of Nieux Society may submit a nomination if they:
Have direct knowledge of the nominee’s work and impact
Can speak authentically to how this person shows up for New Orleans
Believe the nominee’s leadership is meaningful, under-recognized, and worthy of community investment
Are willing to submit a confidential nomination (nominees are not informed during the process)
Do not have a business or family connection to nominee
You do not need to be a nonprofit leader, funder, or formal organization to nominate someone.
If you’ve seen the impact — your voice matters.
Criteria for Receiving the 504GOOD Fellowship
Nominees considered for the Fellowship must:
Community Impact
Be actively creating positive change in New Orleans
Demonstrate measurable or deeply felt impact within a community, neighborhood, or population
Show a sustained commitment to serving others — not a one-time project
Leadership & Values
Lead with integrity, care, and accountability
Be trusted by the people and communities they serve
Reflect values aligned with innovation, equity, and collective good
Accessibility & Inclusion
May work inside or outside formal institutions
Do not need to run a registered nonprofit
Do not need prior awards, media recognition, or major funding
Often represent leadership that is overlooked or under-resourced
Growth Potential
Would meaningfully benefit from flexible financial support, visibility, or community connection
Have a clear opportunity to expand, deepen, or sustain their impact with additional backing
